How many % should be considered as optimum?

Before optimizing certain keywords, we must already realize the best percentage of keyword density that will make your site and search engine friendly. It depends on search engine usually because the search engines crawler decides whether which percent of keyword density is considered the best. Well, most likely around 4% - 7% of keyword density is considered as best, while 1~2% are considered as low keyword density. However, if you over-stuffed keywords in your web page for about 10% or above, then you might eventually get penalty from search engines. This will lead your site into blacklisted. Don't ever over-stuffed keywords, which are disobeying the rule of search engines—spamming.

How to check the keyword density?

There are many tools, which are free, that you can utilize them anytime without limit. Try to use google keyword density analyze tool. Inserting your URL, then click on 'analyze'. Then the results will come out and show you the keyword density accordingly to several section.
